Today I'm going to talk about the Turks who lives in the United States of America. Turks started to came to USA during the World War I and World War II . They settled in large , industrial cities and found employment as unskilled laborers. The majority came to economically support their families in Turkey where economy suffered severely from the last World War. Today, Turkish Americans are visible in every community and walk of life.

In the year of 2000 there were 117.575 Turks in the United States and it still increases today. Many people always travels to United States from Turkey. Most of them are students. At first they go there temporarily but when they see the life standarts they start living there.

There is a fact that most of the Americans hates Turks. The reason of that is Ottomant Empire. Ottomans were trying to spread the Islam all over the world and Christians hated them because of it. They see us like barbarians and freaks. In the past , people were talking about Turks as monster with 6 arms or 2 headed freaks. This continued till now. Of course people don't think as it right now but they still don't like us.

The Turkish immigrants arriving after the mid-1970s consisted mostly of professionals, including engineers, economists, and teachers, whose numbers tended to increase while the number of incoming doctors was decreasing by a series of new qualifications requested by American medical authorities. The new Turkish immigrants also included many small businessmen, artisans and skilled workers, as well as unskilled laborers who found employment in a variety of occupations such as construction and building maintenance. A number of these latter immigrants, following the American interest in ethnic cuisines, began to opened restaurants serving Turkish food.

Today , there are many Turkish actions in USA such as arts , business , music endusrty , politics , medicine , science and media.
